The Douglas County Board is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for organizations addressing the impact of the opioid crisis. These grants are made possible through Illinois Opioid Settlement Funds and aim to support initiatives that make a tangible difference in our community.

Grant Overview

  • Grant Year: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026
  • Submission deadline: August 31, 2025
  • Target award decision date:  September 15, 2025
  • Total Funds Available: $70,000
  • Number of Awards: We anticipate granting between three and seven awards.
  • Award Amounts: Individual grants will range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $25,000.

Required Application Information

To be considered for funding, your application must include the following details:

  1. Organization Name
  2. Organization Information:
    • Full legal name of the organization.
    • Incorporation structure and background (e.g., non-profit, governmental agency, etc., and a brief history).
    • Your most recent annual financial statement or budget.
  3. Amount of Funds Requested: Clearly state the specific amount of funding you are seeking.
  4. Proposed Use of Funds: Provide a detailed description of how your organization plans to utilize the requested grant funds.
  5. Outcomes: Outline the anticipated outcomes and impacts of your proposed project.

Reporting Requirements for Award Recipients

All agencies that receive funding will be responsible for submitting an annual report detailing:

  • The actual use of the granted funds.
  • The outcomes achieved from utilization of the grant received.  

Special Note for Prior Grantees

If your agency received funds during the grant period beginning in 2023, you must submit an annual report (see above) for those previously granted funds along with your current request for additional funding.
